Associate Dean, College of Fine Arts and Communications, 2010-2015
As Associate Dean in BYU’s College of Fine Arts and Communications, I facilitated multiple conversations with Utah’s Deans of Education and Deans of Fine Arts across the State on how we might most effectively prepare the best teachers for Utah’s children.
Chair and one of three founding faculty, Music Dance Theatre Major 1982-2020
The Music Dance Theatre (MDT) program is an interdisciplinary degree offered by the College of Fine Arts and Communication. It is a limited enrollment program designed to train performers for a career in musical theatre and related performance disciplines. The School of Music, the Department of Dance, and the Department of Theatre and Media Arts have combined their resources to create an accredited course of study by NASM, NASD, and NAST leading to a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree.
44 years BYU faculty, 1978-2020
Working as a BYU faculty member, I have led hundreds of students on educational tours to 42 countries. With the world as our campus, we have met with and taught school children and teachers around the globe. My students would describe me as a “life-long learner” with great excitement for this planet we call home.
