Randy Boothe married Susan Johnson in December 1980. Susan is a long-time educator in Nebo District with 45 years in the classroom. Currently Director for the Legacy School, Nebo’s young parent high school, Susan is author of the popular Keyboarding Textbooks used throughout the United States (Four volumes: Keyboard Chatter, Keyboard Craze, Keyboard Connection, Keyboard Chase). She was Nebo District’s Teacher of the Year in 1999, Utah Business Teacher of the year in 2000.
Susan and Randy are the parents of three children, Ross (Michelle) of Salt Lake City, Mark (Erin) in Spanish Fork, and Annalece Misiego (Javier) of Pleasant Grove. Nine grandchildren join Randy in Papa Time every week where they are regulars at Utah’s Hogle Zoo, Loveland Planet Aquarium, Thanksgiving Point’s Dinosaur Museum, Farm, Curiosity Museum, Butterfly Biosphere, Gateway Children’s Museum, and Tracy Aviary.
Randy’s parents, Wayne and Velma Boothe, were educators who graduated from Albion Teachers College in 1949 and immediately accepted positions at Pleasant Plains, Idaho Public School, where Wayne was Principal, 5th and 6th grades teacher, and custodian. Velma taught 3rd and 4th grades. Wayne continued to teach for over three decades.
The Boothe family loves hiking, swimming, live theatre, making music, and traveling.
